The Dental Clinic at the Joint Clinical Research Centre was instituted in November 2015.  In 2014, the Executive Director, Professor  Peter Mugyenyi and Professor Robert Salata  of  Case Western Reserve University(CWRU)  in Cleveland pressed for  the vision of  dental  care , treatments and research  at the JCRC.

This vision reached Dean Goldberg and Associate Dean Weinberg of The CWRU School of Dental Medicine. As a result, the first Dental Chair and it’s accessories were donated to JCRC.

The clinic treats both HIV infected and non-infected clients.  This is possible due to compliance with the highest universal precautions standards of infection control. The equipment is sterilized using a commercial autoclave that has well maintained External Quality Assurance certification. The dental staff members are trained on infection control, biological Safety, radiation safety and chemical safety as should be appropriate for a good Dental clinic.
