  • 1-Targeted HIV\AIDs and Laboratory Services (THALAS), 5 year project commenced 10th June 2010, funded by USAID - $19.8 M
  • A Phase II, open label, single arm trial to evaluate the pharmacokinetics, safety, tolerability, and antiviral activity of TMC278 in antiretroviral-naïve HIV-1 infected adolescents aged 12 to <18yrs, 1 year project to commence in Nov 2010, funded by Tibotec - $40,000
  • Affordable Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in patients on HAART; Validation of affordable saliva-based NVP test in Uganda, 2 year project commenced July 2010, funded by PharmAccess, Netherlands  - Euro 77,000
  • Short-Cycle Therapy (SCT) (5 days on/2 days off) in young people with chronic HIV-infection, 2 year project to commence in October 2010, funded by MRC - $120,000
  • Field Evaluation of Affordable Resistance Testing in African Laboratory Settings, 1 year project commenced January 2010 and funded by PharmAccess - Euro 50,000
  • IRBs-Strengthening Ethical Review capacity of JCRC-IRB and others in the north and western Uganda, 2 year project commenced May 2010, funded by EDCTP - 50,000
  • Social Network Dynamics & HIV Care Retention and Adherence in Uganda, 2 year project will commence in September 2010, funded by NIH - $200,000
  • Strengthening the Research Training and Administrative Capacity of the office of research and development at JCRC and other institutions in Uganda, 5 year project commenced in May 2010, funded by NIH - $194,000
  • CHAPAS -3 Trial -Children with HIV in Africa Pharmacokinetics and Acceptability/Adherence of Simple Antiretroviral Regimens - 4 year project commenced November 2009, funded by EDCTP - Euro 4.6 M
  • The EARNEST Trial -The European and African Research Network for Evaluation of Second Line Therapy in HIV infection., 4 year project commenced September 2009, funded by EDCTP - Euro 4.8M
  • Evaluation of the PK of Atripla with and without food in HIV infected Ugandan Adults , 1 year project commenced in July 2009 and has been completed, funded by University of Dublin, Ireland - 21,000
  • International Clinical Operational and Health Services Research Training Award for AIDS and TB (COHRE), 5 year extension following first 5 yr project commenced April 2009, funded by NIH - $1.5 M
  • MARCH- Monitoring Antiretroviral Resistance in Children, 2 year EDCTP Senior Fellowship Grant commenced Sept 2009 - Euro 200,000
  • Training site for international clinical research scholars (ICRS) and Fellows (ICRF) since June 2009 funded by NIH, Forgarty International Centre,  40,000 per year
  • STAR -E Strengthening TB and HIV\AIDS Responces in Eastern Uganda. USAID Uganda, JCRC is a partner in a consortium led by MSH from USA,  5 year project commenced in March 2009, JCRC funding is $1.5M
  • Assessing the Impact of wide spread ART on population HIV incidence, funded in July 2009 by Canadian Government - Canadian $1.0 M
  • Routine Laboratory Monitoring of Patients on ART in Uganda, 2 year NIH PEPFAR Evaluation project commenced in June 2008, funded by NIH - $300,000
  • PASER -PharmAccess African Studies to Evaluate Resistance to Antiretroviral Drugs, 3 year project commenced in January 2008, funded by PharmAccess -  $600,000
  • Pharmacokinetics and tolerability of lopinavir/ritonavir (Aluvia tablets) during co-administration with efavirenz or nevirapine in Ugandan HIV-infected adult patients, 1 year project commenced in Feb 2009 and has been completed, funded by DfiD - $70,000
  • Evaluate the Safety and Immunogenicity of LFn-P24C as a Therapeutic Vaccine in HIV-infected Adult Volunteers, 2 year project commenced Jan 2008 and is completed, funded by Public Health Foundation Enterprises, San Francisco - $400,000
  • A randomized trial of monitoring practice and induction maintenance drug regimens in the management of antiretroviral therapy in children with HIV infection in Africa -ARROW Study, 5 year project commenced July 2006, funded by MRC - $2.5 M
  • Development of Antiretroviral Therapy in Africa (DART) study, 6 year  project commenced in Jan 2003 and completed in December 2009, funded by Rockefeller Foundation and MRC - $5.0 M
  • A phase 1 study to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of ALVAC HIV vCP1521 in infants born to HIV infected women in Uganda  funded by NIH and completed in 2009
