Our Laboratory Capacity

We Facilitate Clinical Research
in Africa

The laboratories are staffed with over 60 experienced laboratory scientists, biomedical technologists, and research personnel specializing in molecular diagnostics, immunology, microbiology, and clinical chemistry.

Equipped with state-of-the-art instruments, to include high-throughput PCR machines, flow cytometers, automated hematology and chemistry analyzers, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms the lab adheres to strict quality control standards and biosafety regulations, ensuring accurate and reliable diagnostic and research outcomes.

To enhance operational efficiency, the laboratory implements lean management principles continuous professional development programs, and quality assurance mechanisms that optimize workflow and minimize turnaround time.

Our sample depository is a well-structured biorepository that stores high-quality biological samples, supporting clinical research, diagnostics, and innovation in biomedical science.

It offers opportunities for collaborative research, access to diverse sample collections for studies on infectious and non-communicable diseases, and potential partnerships for product development and drug discovery.

Our laboratories employ robust Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to streamline sample tracking, automate test result entry that is integrated with ICEA, enhancing data accuracy and accessibility.

The laboratory’s power infrastructure includes stable connection to the national grid high-capacity backup generators, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, and solar power integration to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Additionally, redundant refrigeration and cold chain management systems safeguard specimen integrity even during power disruptions. These capabilities position JCRC as a center of excellence in laboratory science, supporting high-quality clinical care, research, and biomedical innovation.
