Designed to complement government health initiatives our programs seek to create sustainable impact for marginalized communities through strategic planning, resource allocation, and stakeholder collaboration.
Our program comprises of the JCRC grant projects developed to address social injustice and human suffering and contribute to Uganda’s development goals and are implemented with the financial support of development partners like USAID, CDC.
JCRC Program Directorate sources for new projects while coordinating existing ones to ensure our interventions are relevant and address the major health issues affecting Uganda such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), malaria, cancer and other infectious and non-communicable diseases.
Through our partnership with government agencies JCRC thrives to strengthen healthcare systems, improve service delivery and increase access to quality care to all.
Most of our Program work has been in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care. JCRC pioneered and continues to leads large-scale HIV/AIDS projects in Uganda. JCRC is also engaged in pediatric cancer providing specialized care for children affected by HIV-related cancers through the Global HOPE project. Our program has strengthened laboratory capacity for HIV diagnostics, viral load monitoring and drug resistance testing to ensure optimal patient care.
Our program also addresses other health conditions beyond HIV to include tuberculosis (TB), malaria, cancer, etc. JCRC supports national TB programs by improving diagnostics, enhancing treatment outcomes, and conducting research on drug-resistant TB. JCRC is involved in malaria control, focusing on early detection, prevention and innovative treatment strategies. JCRC addresses non-communicable diseases, particularly cancer screening and treatment, with an emphasis on cervical and breast cancer.
Beyond disease-specific interventions, our program thrives to contribute to strengthening Uganda’s healthcare systems. Our collaborations with Ministry of Health, Uganda AIDS Commission, Central Public Health Laboratories, district health offices and other stakeholders help improve health governance, supply-chain management, and human resource capacities. These efforts support service delivery contributing to a resilient healthcare system.
Another focus of our program is improving the capacities of Uganda’s health workforce.
