On August 18th, 2023, the Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) at our Regional Centre of Excellence in Fort portal, hosted a remarkable event that left an indelible mark on the community. The Fort portal Sickle Cell Camp was a beacon of hope for individuals battling sickle cell disease, offering them much-needed support in the form of free Hydroxyurea medication and crucial psychosocial services.
What made this event even more special were the distinguished guests in attendance. Their participation not only elevated the event’s significance but also symbolized the community’s united front in the fight against sickle cell disease.
The camp was a testament to JCRC’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare and enhancing the quality of life for those affected by this condition. It provided a platform for education, support, and the reassurance that no one in the community faces the challenges of sickle cell disease alone.
