In addition, there is a weekly renal clinic, sickle cell clinic, chronic myeloid leukemia clinic as well as adolescent clinics. The unit runs a wellness program that offers clinical wellness assessments, nutritional and psychosocial counseling, as well as physical therapy sessions. The JCRC private service runs specialty care services such as a daily dental clinic and an apheresis unit. All these services are supported by a well-stocked pharmacy, radiology services and a modern WHO and CAP certified laboratory with a large menu of tests.
The clinic is open from Mondays to Saturdays, from 8am to 8pm on Monday to Friday and from 8am to 5pm on Saturdays. It is staffed by three medical officers, a pediatrician, and two physicians. JCRC also has an inpatient service with an eight-bed capacity that is open 24 hours a day. The impatient ward is staffed by nursing officers, and a medical officer and physician are on call 24 hours a day. The JCRC private clinic also provides services to clients with different insurance providers. Insurance providers cover consultation with specialist providers at JCRC and cover relevant laboratory investigations and imaging modalities.
The JCRC has regional centers of excellence in Mbarara, Gulu and Fort portal cities. These centers have outpatient clinics that provide general medical care and offer specialized HIV care and treatment.
